Restoration and conversion of a coach house

This Grade II* listed building near Saffron Walden was formerly a coach house. It had been standing empty for many years and was in a very dilapidated condition. Its restoration, conversion and extension to make a three bedroom family home is another interesting Hibbs & Walsh Associates project. It was suffering from water and fire damage when our client bought it. These photographs show the building before work started, and following completion. Other similar architectural commissions have been more modest, but even a tiny extension, the moving of a door or the insertion of a window can make an extraordinary improvement to a listed building.
