The site for these two new houses already benefited from an outline planning consent for a pair of dormer windowed cottages (with all matters reserved, except scale and access).
Our client, local building contractor / developer, Steven Reed of Reed Contracts Ltd, gave us a brief to redesign the pair of new houses, staying within the confines of the consent, but in a more contemporary way.
The identical design is mirrored and the properties share the same road access.
The houses are constructed from highly insulated prefabricated timber frame panels with a through coloured render external finish.
The horizontal timber used for cladding and louvres is Western Cedar, with the roofs finished with natural Spanish slate.
Note: ‘through coloured’ means the render is self-coloured so that it doesn’t need painting.
