Bushett Rise is a development of seven luxury modern family homes comprising listed barn conversions and new builds, situated on the site of a former farmstead at Oxen End on the boundary of Great Bardfield in rural NW Essex. Developer Russell Prince engaged Hibbs & Walsh to bring his vision to life in 2019.
The medieval farmstead dates back to the late 15th century. We designed the remaining buildings, an 18th century Grade II listed Essex Barn and Cart Lodge to retain their original features where possible. The development has four barn conversions and three new build dwellings, finished to Russell’s exacting specifications.
We ensured that each property has a unique character whilst blending in harmoniously with the overall development.
Fun fact: apart from Bushett Manor and Little Cote House, the remaining five properties have been named after breeds of British cattle.
