Listed Buildings

Extensions and alterations to period country houses – which are often listed buildings - are a speciality of architects Hibbs & Walsh Associates. In many cases obtaining Planning Permission or Listed Building Consent from the Local Authority can be difficult and we are pleased to negotiate on behalf of our clients.
The architects’ expertise in conservation work has led to a number of prestige projects including drawing up proposals and carrying out renovations to Grade II* listed buildings. Proposals to rescue dilapidated listed buildings are drawn up in consultaion with Local Authority conservation departments and with English Heritage. Often the solution is to ensure that the alterations or additions are designed to look right in the context of the original building and respect the traditions of vernacular architecture, whilst at the same time providing 21st century facilities.
